VIABLE OPTIONS FOR CLOSING GAPS IN EXPERIENCE, SOFT SKILLS
What it is: Sometimes the only barrier standing in the way of hiring a great new employee is the lack of relevant work experience or updated skills. Our new Internship and Work Experience programs are designed to solve those issues for industry-specific employers in the Manufacturing, Health, Technology and Logistics fields.
- Internships are for area postsecondary students or recent graduates with technical training, but little or no experience.
- Work Experience focuses on job seekers who have work experience but whose job-specific skills need updating.
Selecting and training an intern/work experience trainee allows employers to train, observe and develop the trainee. By the end of the program, employers can gain a valuable new asset for their organization by offering interns/trainees full-time employment.
Here's how it works: As the employer, you select qualified interns or trainees from among an eligible pool of candidates vetted by CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion (CLM).
Participants work up to 30 hours per week for 12 weeks or 360 hours, whichever comes first.
No risk to you: CareerSource CLM has contracted with Customer Driven Staffing to cover payroll, taxes, worker's compensation and other related costs. Interns will be paid at 15 percent below the hourly rate normally paid by the employer for that position. Work Experience trainees will be paid $8.15 per hour. All interns/work experience trainees will be covered by Florida’s Workers Compensation Policy.
