Career Awareness Public School Programs — CareerSource CLM

Career Awareness Public School Programs

As part of CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion’s ongoing Career Awareness-Talent Pipeline project, these videos highlight public school programs that prepare students for careers in manufacturing, logistics and information technology. The videos are powered by a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation in support of its “K to Career” educational and workforce development initiatives.

The career awareness video project was launched in 2016 as one of several initiatives by CareerSource CLM to address the region’s skills gap. The pilot program highlighted targeted businesses’ products, work environment and required skills for successful employment.

This second phase of the career awareness initiative got under way in late 2017 with a goal of showcasing public school career programs within the three-county area. The inaugural videos feature Marion County Public Schools' Career Choice Academies. The project will expand to include other career and technical education programs throughout Citrus, Levy and Marion counties.
