OCALA, Fla. (April 15, 2024) – CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion has teamed up with Citrus County Schools to host a Youth Job Fair on Friday, April 26 from 3-5 p.m. at the College of Central Florida Wilton Simpson Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Hwy.

Designed for 16-to-24-year-olds, the job fair is for first-time job seekers as well as future high school and post-secondary graduates seeking full- or part-time employment, whether permanent, temporary, or just for the summer.

There is no charge to attend, but job seekers are asked to register in advance at bit.ly/FIRSTJOBCITRUS.

Dale French, executive vice president for CareerSource CLM, said the job fair is perfect for businesses interested in connecting with, and investing in, their “next generation” workforce.

“It’s also a great opportunity for older youth and young adults who are eager to earn a paycheck and are ready to kickstart their careers by taking advantage of local job opportunities,” French said.

To date, the following businesses – all with immediate jobs to fill — and education partners are scheduled to take part: AutoZone, BluSky Group Management, Citrus County Boad of County Commissioners, Citrus County Schools, College of Central Florida, Eckerd Connects Workforce Development, Florida Army National Guard, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches – Camping Services, Key Training Center, People Ready, Sevita Florida Mentor, US Army, US Navy, and Withlacoochee Technical College.

French noted that a limited number of spots are still available for businesses interested in participating. To learn more or register – or to place job orders if unable to attend – call the CareerSource CLM business development team at 800-746-9950.

Attendees should bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for on-the-spot job interviews. Participants are also asked to dress respectfully: no flip-flops or casual sandals, no tee-shirts with profane or obscene language or images, no shorts or jeans with rips or holes, and no article of clothing that is too tight, too short or revealing.

Those interested in developing or updating their resume, working on interview skills and/or receiving job fair preparation tips are encouraged to visit the CareerSource CLM career center at 683 S. Adolph Point, in Lecanto. Centers are also located at 2703 NE 14th St., in Ocala and 2175 NW 11th Dr., in Chiefland.

The centers are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All job candidate services are available at no charge.
