Ocala, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2025) – CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion and Marion Technical College will once again shift into gear to host a CDL Community Job Fair for those with the drive to succeed in long-haul or local commercial truck driving.
The job fair takes place Thursday, Feb. 27 from 5-7 p.m. at MTC, 1014 SW Seventh Road, in Ocala.
There is no charge to attend but registration is recommended at bit.ly/CDL2025JobFair.
Multiple businesses will be recruiting Class A and Class B commercial drivers, including recent graduates, to drive over-the-road as well as in and around Marion County. In addition, MTC representatives will help those interested in enhancing their CDL education find the right program to do so.
Dale French, executive vice president of CareerSource CLM, noted that this is the fifth consecutive CDL job fair held in partnership with MTC.
“One also took place in 2019, but we had to hit the brakes in 2020 (during Covid), so this is actually our sixth CDL job fair,” he said. “The reason we keep having them every year is because there is such demand in the transportation industry for over-the-road drivers as well as for those interested in more local and regional routes.”
To date, participating businesses include Coca Cola Beverages Florida, City of Ocala, Cone Distributing, CWR Contracting, Drive Line Solutions, GFL Environmental, Hilton Hitch Investments, Marion County Public Schools, Marion Technical College, McLane Company, SunTran, and Waste Pro.
Job candidates interested in attending are encouraged to bring printed copies of their resume and dress appropriately.
Fee-free employability assistance, including help with resumes and interview skills, is available at any CareerSource CLM career center in Ocala, Lecanto and Chiefland; the centers are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
