TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2024) – FloridaCommerce today announced that Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available for residents and businesses of Citrus and Levy counties whose employment or self-employment were impacted as a direct result of Hurricane Debby.
DUA is intended for those who are not eligible for regular state or federal Reemployment Assistance benefits. It is available for weeks of unemployment from Aug. 4 through Feb. 8, 2025 as long as the unemployment continues to be a result of the disaster in a FEMA designated-disaster area.
Claims may be submitted at FloridaJobs.org.
The deadline to submit claims for DUA benefits for businesses and residents in Citrus County is no later than 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 4. For businesses and residents in Levy County, the deadline to submit claims is no later than 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 15.
