OCALA, Fla. (March 18, 2020) – All CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion career centers and offices will be closed to the public beginning Friday. March 20 in Marion County and Monday, March 23 in Citrus and Levy counties. Until further notice, services will be offered virtually rather than face-to-face.

Staff will continue to be available weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to assist job seekers and businesses by phone and email. Information and services are also accessible online at careersourceclm.com.

“We’re still here to help in any way possible, but for the protection of our customers and staff, we’re moving to virtual services,” said Rusty Skinner, CEO of CareerSource CLM. “We feel this is the right approach and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience during these stressful times.”

Skinner said that for job candidates, eLearning and assessment tools, ability to search for jobs and access information about leading industry sectors, as well as learn about training and education assistance, are all available online.

In addition, those seeking assistance with employment may call 800-434-JOBS (5627) from anywhere in the region to reach the CareerSource CLM call center. Candidates may also email [email protected] .

Anyone currently working with a career coach and/or participating in employment-related programs such as veterans services, welfare transition, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) or youth services, are encouraged to call or email their assigned case manager.

Employers interested in learning about fee-free business services, including training grants and candidate assessments, may get in touch with the Business Development Team by calling 800-6746-9950 or 352-873-7955 or emailing [email protected].

Skinner said that closing the offices to the public does not mean those displaced by COVID-19 cannot file for Reemployment Assistance (Unemployment Compensation Insurance). He noted that Florida’s Reemployment Assistance System is administered by the Department of Economic Opportunity and not CareerSource CLM or members of the CareerSource Florida network.

“It’s important to understand that our staff cannot determine, or offer opinions on, benefits eligibility,” Skinner said. “We do provide information and links on our website to help individuals who need to file claims.”

Florida’s Reemployment Assistance Program can be accessed at floridajobs.org or by calling 800-204-2418.
