Exclusively for 16-to-24-year-olds, the in-person job fair is ideal for older youth/young adults seeking full or part-time employment, whether permanent, temporary, or just for the summer. While MCPS is co-hosting the event, it is open to older youth/young adults from Citrus and Levy counties as well.

There is no charge to attend, but participants are asked to register in advance at tinyurl.com/16to24.

To date, the following businesses are scheduled to take part: Advent Health, AT&T Call Center, AutoZone, Boys and Girls Club, Brookdale Paddock Hills, Chick-fil-A Ocala, Coke Florida, Cone Distributing, Dollar Tree Distribution, Earthscapes Unlimited, Family Care Givers, Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (FAST), Florida Department of Corrections, Hilton Ocala, iServe — Sonny’s BBQ and Jeremiah’s Italian, Lockheed-Martin, Marion County Board of County Commissioners, Marion County Public Schools, Marshalls, Outlaw Snax, Quad Nurse, Raney’s Inc., Rank Quality Restaurants – McDonalds, Real Truck, ServPro of Ocala, Signature Brands, Skyline Homes, Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Target, Two Men and a Truck Ocala/The Villages and World Equestrian Center.

Dale French, executive vice president for CareerSource CLM, said that the job fair is a “terrific opportunity for older youth and young adults who often don’t know how to get started earning a paycheck, but are eager to learn, ready to work and excited for gainful employment.”

French said the job fair had been on hold for a couple years due to the pandemic but is making a strong comeback, adding that “for businesses, this is a terrific opportunity to connect with the area’s emerging workforce not only to fill immediate job needs but to help build their talent pipeline.”

MCPS Superintendent Diane Gullett said the job fair underscores that “our community offers wonderful opportunities for young people, including recent graduates, to be employed in meaningful and important jobs.”

Gullett added that “we hope those experiences keep people in Marion County because we have immediate positions to fill, too. Everyone who joins our district plays an important role in helping every student succeed.”
Attendees should bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for on-the-spot job interviews.

Proper dress will be required and all those planning to attend the job fair should come dressed to impress – no flip-flops or casual sandals, t-shirts with profane or obscene language or images, no shorts or jeans with rips or holes, or anything that is too tight, too short or revealing.

Those interested in developing or updating their resume, working on interview skills and/or receiving job fair preparation tips are encouraged to visit one of CareerSource CLM’s career centers located at 2703 NE 14th St., in Ocala; 683 S.
