OCALA (July 17, 2018) – The Central Florida Community Action Agency has named CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion its 2018 Partner of the Year for Marion County.
The agency, which serves Marion, Levy and Alachua counties, provides energy assistance and other programs for low-income families, particularly the elderly and disabled. Last November, CFCAA moved its Marion County office to CareerSource CLM’s career center in Ocala.
During CFCAA’s annual Partner of the Year Awards on July 12, the agency’s CEO Charles Harris said the move, at CareerSource CLM’s invitation, resulted in “substantial financial savings to the agency and more importantly, provided convenience for our shared clients.”
“At CFCAA we emphasize the importance of educational pursuits and job training as the best way out of poverty,” Harris said during the awards presentation. “We were very happy to forge a strong partnership with CareerSource CLM.”
Harris, who joined CareerSource CLM’s board of directors earlier this year, also said “I consider it an honor to be involved with what I see as a well-run organization that cares about the entire community.”
The Partner of the Year awards, which took place in Gainesville, also recognized the Chiefland Police Department (Levy County Partner of the Year) and Wells Fargo (Alachua County Partner of the Year).
