Phoenix Rising YouthBuild Class IX Graduation

Phoenix Rising YouthBuild students trade hardhats for mortar boards and hammers for diplomas as they celebrate completion of Marion County’s ninth project,and the first in Belleview.

The graduation caps off the 20-week alternative education program that makes a positive difference in the lives of young adults ages 18-24 while helping revitalize economically challenged areas of the community.

The 2019 State of Workforce Conference addresses the complex challenges businesses face growing the talent pipeline sufficient to meet the region’s needs.

Cultivating Your 21st Century Workforce brings together local community and economic development partners, educational institutions, business owners and HR professionals to discuss the skills gap within the current workforce and bring awareness of the transformational efforts within our school systems K-12 programs to bridge that gap.

The alternative-education program is designed to help revitalize economically challenged areas in Marion County while making a positive difference in the lives of young adults, age 18-24. A key part of the program is construction of a home for a deserving family in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Marion County.

The Fourth Annual Marion County Youth Career Expo for Middle School students features three sessions in rotation: a career fair/expo, industry roundtable and nationally acclaimed motivational speaker. The expo gives students an opportunity to  interact with local businesses to begin understanding their role in the talent pipeline.

Students will be identified and invited to attend by their individual schools. Please contact your student’s school for information about attending.
